Abstract

The article explores the concept of being sons and daughters from a philosophical and anthropological perspective, focusing on the meaning and the inherent secret of birth. Through a deep analysis, it examines how the act of being born implies not only a biological event but also an existential and spiritual dimension. The importance of recognizing the other as a son or daughter and the ethical and social implications of this fundamental relationship are discussed. Additionally, it analyzes how different cultural and religious traditions address the mystery of birth and filiation.

Author Biographies

Carla Canullo, Università di Macerata

Professor of Philosophy at the University of Macerata (Italy), she combines her professional work with that of a translator. She has also been a lecturer at the Institut Catholique de Paris (2003-2007) and has conducted seminars at various European universities. Her research focuses on contemporary phenomenology and hermeneutics in authors such as Maine de Biran, Jean Nabert, Jacques Derrida, Michel Henry, and Jean-Luc Marion. She is a member of the "Société francophone de Philosophie de la religion" and the "Laboratoire de Phénoménologie et Herméneutique" in Paris.
