This review presents Jaime Antúnez Aldunate’s Benedict XVI, the Pope of Modernity, highlighting its approach to the theological, cultural, and humanist thought of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. It emphasizes the intellectual and personal relationship between Antúnez and Ratzinger, as well as the central themes of his thought, including the critique of reduced reason, the defense of expanded reason, the relationship between truth and ethics, the critique of relativism, and the understanding of the Church as a mystery of communion. The review shows that Benedict XVI does not simply oppose modernity, but seeks to engage it through faith, reason, and human dignity.
