On the threshold of christianity: attention and decreation in the philosophy of Simone Weil

Abstract
This research focuses on the concept of "attention" through the work of Simone Weil, in order to show the enormous importance that it entails in her doctrine. Once her concept of "attention" is understood, it is possible to understand her views concerning school studies, love of neighbor, creation, and God. It is therefore an element within her work that would allow us to understand the key points and the constants of her thought. But it will also help us to understand, as we will try to prove, that the reasons why she didn't want to enter the Catholic Church are to be found in her own philosophy, which could not agree with or be assimilated to Christian tradition.
