Abstract

Ratzinger considers beauty as a constitutive dimension of reality. It is also a necessity for the christianism, also in perspective for the evangelization. The german theologian studies then the sacred and liturgical music, the christian architecture and the iconography, as well as the profan art. This artistical beauty can be united to good, but at the same time exists a luciferine beauty. Besides it, in art, the reason must be united to senses and emotions. For christians, the definitive beauty will be the Christ’s one, which includes pain and love. Is the crucifixed and resurrected Beauty and, con-sequently, eternal.
