The problem of the connection between God and the human being: Metaphysical Participation in Thomas Aquinas and the unio mystica in Meister Eckhart
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article seeks to understand the problem of the connection between God and man, from the propositions of metaphysical Participation in Thomas Aquinas and the notion of Mystical Union in Meister Eckhart. For this purpose, the postulates of both authors are analyzed independently, establishing the background of the tradition that each one uses, in order to understand the difference in their reasoning. To this end, we seek to relate both positions and to establish the discrepancies, mainly metaphysical, regarding the question of being, since this marks a key difference between both authors, which brings as a consequence a different idea of the essence of the human being and his relationship with other beings.
