This work aims to show the proposals presented by Pope Francis in family matters. After one year of reigning, he started a cycle of catechesis about the family, during the year 2014. In 2015, he convenes to two synods: “The challenges of the family in the context of the new evangelization” and “Vocation and mission of the family in the Church and in the world”, and during 2016 he takes the results and summarizes them in the post synodal apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. He does not pretend to modify the doctrine of the Church in family matters, but rather, in a very personal way and with his sight on Jesus, he takes the documents of the Church concerning the family, focuses on the lessons from his predecessors John Paul II and Benedict XVI, and develops an updated view of the Gospel highlighting the mission, the embracing, the discernment, and the accompanying as required attitudes that the Church must have in our times as far as marriage and family are concerned.
