Privacy and use of information

Open access

The journal Anales de Teología is a diamond open access publication. All its content is freely and immediately available, without embargo periods or registration or subscription requirements.

The journal charges no fees for submission, review, editorial processing, or publication of contributions, or for access to published content.

Copyright and authorization to publish

Authors retain copyright in their work. Publication in the journal does not entail an exclusive transfer of economic rights.

By agreeing to publication, authors grant the journal Anales de Teología and its publisher, the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide authorization to first publish the work; reproduce, distribute, and communicate it to the public; make the technical adaptations necessary for its editing, accessibility, and preservation; deposit it in repositories; and supply it to, and authorize its inclusion, reproduction, and distribution in, indexing services, databases, and scholarly dissemination platforms, including those operating commercially, exclusively for the purposes of indexing, preservation, retrieval, and scholarly dissemination.

This authorization is formalized through the declaration that authors accept when submitting their work through the journal’s platform.

The authorization does not permit substantive changes to the content without the authors’ consent or restrict their right to reuse, deposit, translate, or subsequently publish the work. Any subsequent publication must acknowledge its initial publication in Anales de Teología and include the corresponding bibliographic reference and DOI.

Publication license

Contributions are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.

This license permits copying, distribution, communication, and adaptation of the content for noncommercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors, the original publication in Anales de Teología is identified, a link to the license is provided, and any changes are indicated. Attribution must not suggest that the authors or the journal endorse the reuse.

Commercial uses that are neither covered by the authorization granted to the journal and its publisher nor permitted under a statutory exception or limitation require prior permission from the copyright holder.

The journal identifies the rights holder and the applicable license on each contribution’s webpage, in its metadata, and in the published version.

Third-party materials and translations

The journal’s license applies only to materials whose rights permit publication under those terms. Images, excerpts, documents, or other third-party materials subject to different terms must be clearly identified, indicating their rights holder and conditions of use.

Authors are responsible for obtaining and submitting the necessary permissions to reproduce protected materials. The journal may request these documents before publication and will not publish materials for which the right to use them has not been duly documented. If a problem is identified after publication, the journal will proceed in accordance with the Complaints, Appeals, Corrections, and Retractions policy.

For translations, evidence must be provided that the original work is in the public domain or that sufficient permission has been obtained to translate it and publish it in open access under the license used by the journal. Rights in the translation belong to the translator, without prejudice to the rights of the original work’s rights holder and the conditions established in the relevant authorization.

Self-archiving

The journal Anales de Teología does not publish preprints or host them on its platform. However, the prior deposit of a manuscript in an institutional repository or external preprint server does not prevent its submission to the journal and is not in itself considered prior publication. Its existence and location must be disclosed at the time of submission, in accordance with the Integrity, Originality, and Authorship policy.

While the manuscript is under review, authors must not deposit new versions in publicly accessible repositories or servers, or update a previously deposited version with changes arising from the editorial process. This restriction seeks to preserve, as far as possible, double anonymity and the confidentiality of the review process.
