Metadata, persistent identifiers and digital preservation
The journal Anales de Teología maintains its metadata, identifiers, and preservation mechanisms in accordance with scholarly interoperability standards to ensure the identification, retrieval, traceability, and permanent availability of its content.
Metadata
Each published contribution has sufficient bibliographic and editorial metadata to identify it and facilitate its retrieval. These include, as applicable, the title, abstract, keywords, contribution type, language, authors’ names, institutional affiliations, country, ORCID identifiers, submission and publication dates, volume, issue, pagination or article identifier, DOI, bibliographic references, license, copyright ownership, and funding declarations.
Institutional affiliations are recorded in a standardized form and linked through ROR (Research Organization Registry) identifiers where available. The published version also states the city and country of each institution.
The title, abstract, and keywords are recorded in the contribution’s original language and, if that language is not English, also in English. English titles, abstracts, and keywords appear in the published version, on the contribution’s webpage, and in its metadata. Research articles always include an abstract and keywords. Other contributions include at least an English title. The Editorial Team checks that the English versions are accurate and comprehensible and may ask authors to correct them or have them linguistically revised before publication.
Authors’ names, institutional affiliations, and bibliographic references are published in the Latin alphabet. When a reference contains information in another writing system, a transliteration following a recognized system will always be published; the original form may also be retained when relevant for scholarly purposes.
Authors are responsible for providing complete and accurate information about their names, affiliations, identifiers, funding, and other details requested during submission. The Editorial Team reviews and standardizes this information before publication, seeking to preserve the correct form of names, their diacritics, and the precise identification of institutions.
When errors or omissions are detected after publication, the journal will correct the metadata on its platform, update them in Crossref, and, where appropriate, notify other external systems of the change. Changes affecting a publication’s status, such as corrections or retractions, will be visibly recorded and remain linked to the original document, in accordance with the Complaints, Appeals, Corrections, and Retractions policy.
Journal identifiers
The journal’s editorial title is Anales de Teología. The journal uses this title consistently on its website, in published files, and in metadata deposited with Crossref, and communicates it to indexing services. Its key title registered in the ISSN system is Anales de teología (En línea).
The electronic edition of Anales de Teología is identified by ISSN 2735-6345.
ISSN 0717-4152 corresponds to the print edition, published from 1998 to 2019 and now discontinued, and also serves as the ISSN-L linking the journal’s different versions. The journal retains the print edition’s ISSN as historical information and does not present it as identifying a current edition.
DOI
The journal assigns each published contribution a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered through Crossref. The DOI appears on the contribution’s webpage, in its metadata, and in the published version.
The journal keeps the metadata and resolution URL associated with each DOI up to date. Registered DOIs are not deleted, changed, or reused. When a contribution is corrected, retracted, or subject to another post-publication measure, its DOI will continue to resolve to a page that clearly states its status and provides access to the relevant notices.
Corrections, retractions, and other significant editorial notices will receive their own DOI where appropriate and will be linked through their metadata to the contribution they concern.
ORCID
The journal asks everyone credited as an author of a contribution, including translators, to provide their ORCID identifier at the time of submission. When provided, it is included in the metadata and published version to unambiguously distinguish each person’s scholarly identity and correctly link their contributions. Its absence does not prevent review or publication of the work.
Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of their ORCID identifier and keeping their record up to date. The journal does not create, modify, or manage ORCID profiles on behalf of their holders.
Interoperability
The journal uses Open Journal Systems and makes its metadata publicly available through the OAI-PMH protocol, enabling automated harvesting by repositories, libraries, catalogs, aggregators, and indexing services.
Metadata can be accessed through the following endpoint:
https://revistas.ucsc.cl/index.php/analesdeteologia/oai
The journal deposits metadata for each published contribution with Crossref and may provide them to other scholarly information systems for the identification, indexing, preservation, retrieval, and dissemination of its content, in accordance with its Open Access and Copyright policy.
Digital preservation
The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). Content published on its platform is deposited in this network and undergoes long-term distributed digital preservation using LOCKSS technology.
The Editorial Team periodically checks the status of deposits and works with the platform administrators to redeposit content that contains errors or is incomplete.
Preservation covers published content, its metadata, and subsequent editorial notices. Corrections, retractions, and other changes to a publication’s status will not entail the silent deletion of the original record, but rather its preservation and linkage to the corresponding notice.
