This article has three parts. In the first part, I present a number of comments in order to situate the idea of faith. In the remaining two parts I develop more deeply two as-pects that seem central to me from a pastoral perspective: Christian faith as a way of being a person, which therefore involves the whole human being, and the theological and ecclesiastical value of faith experienced by every believer and by the whole Chris-tian community.
