Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the historicity of Jesus’ Resurrection, focusing not mainly on the issue itself as it stands today—the so-called “objective foundation of faith” in the Resurrection—but rather on the theorization of its “historical genesis,” specifically based on—as the subtitle indicates—Hans Kessler’s work, Such den Lebenden nicht bei dent Toten (1988). The work try to fall within an epistemological discussion regarding the task of historical science with respect to the possibility of its knowledge of the Resurrection of Jesus. The originality of the work stems, above all, from engaging in dialogue with a thinker, Bible scholar and theologian on the Resurrection such as Hans Kessler, something that, according to the sources consulted, has not yet been done, at least in Spanish. Building on Kessler, we defend in this work what might be called “historical realism” regarding the Resurrection.
