This article asks a question that is fundamental to Christianity. How does a transcen-dental God act in the world? From a philosophical point of view the problem is com-plex and lies in the relationship between transcendence and history. We belong to a religion that professes God’s incarnation as the creator of everything, who also gov-erns the world and invites men and women to be His collaborators in the propagation of his plan for salvation. In the following pages we present Karl Rahner’s thoughts on this issue as faithfully as possible and offer our own personal point of view.
