This article is the result of a research work on the occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Vatican II Council. From the perceptions of those who have experienced the life and pastoral work of the church, the goal of this work aims to recognize the implications of the Council in the Church. This was done through consultative meetings, interviews and dialogue with members of dioceses that form the ecclesiastical provinces of Concepción and Puerto Montt. In this way, a theological and pastoral dialogue of the contemporary church has occurred in regard to the Council, its teachings and its history of reception. The intention is to recover and creatively appropriate its best intuitions for the Church to face the present urgencies.
