Hegel and the foundation of war in being-for-itself. Reflections on the just war

Abstract
The following research will reflect on war and its nature in the context of Hegel’s philosophical system. Hegel’s war establishes its ontological foundation in the category of being-for-itself or self-affirmation: the need for all self-consciousness that pretends to be free, and that it can be reached through the dialectical process of recognition. This conception will be contrasted with the classic notion of the just war raised by Thomas Aquinas, by examining the place where negativity of evil has in both metaphysical systems, in order to determine if it is possible to understand the ethics of both wars in the same sense.
