Aims

The Revista de Filosofía UCSC is an academic journal dedicated to promoting and disseminating original and unpublished research in the field of contemporary readings of Philosophy. Its aim is to contribute to the advancement of this humanistic knowledge, foster reflection on fundamental problems of the discipline, and create a space for critical dialogue between reason and Christian faith, as well as among diverse philosophical and cultural traditions.

The journal is primarily intended for researchers in Philosophy, although it also seeks to attract scholars from other disciplines interested in the philosophical analysis of interdisciplinary issues. Contributions are accepted in formats such as research articles, review articles, translations, and book reviews, provided they are the result of rigorous academic work.

To promote linguistic and cultural diversity, the journal publishes works in Spanish, English, and French. Through a double-blind peer review process, it ensures the academic quality of each manuscript, positioning itself as a reference for the philosophical community.

Scope

The Revista de Filosofía UCSC is dedicated to the publication of original and high-quality research in various areas of philosophy, aiming to position itself as an academic benchmark in the international sphere. These areas seek to approach both classical traditions and emerging proposals from a contemporary perspective, fostering interaction between different philosophical currents and exploring their relevance to the problems of our time.

Aligned with its commitment to contemporary dialogue, the Revista de Filosofía UCSC also encourages the exploration of themes connecting philosophy with other disciplines, such as theology, science, politics, and the humanities in general. It also offers a space for works reflecting on the interaction between reason and Christian faith, in an effort to revitalize the contributions of this tradition in current philosophical debates.

Published by the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Theological and Philosophical Studies at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, the journal aims to strengthen the philosophical community both in Chile and internationally, projecting its contributions to a broader audience interested in philosophy as a tool to understand and transform contemporary reality.

Ownership and Management of the Revista de Filosofía UCSC

The Revista de Filosofía UCSC is an academic publication affiliated with the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Theological Studies and Philosophy at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción. As such, it assumes all economic costs associated with the journal.

Periodicity

Revista de Filosofía UCSC followed a biannual publication model. Once the articles were accepted, they were typeset and published in a single volume per year, divided into two issues, corresponding to each semester.

The call for submissions is continuously open.

Editorial Process Timelines

The Revista de Filosofía UCSC has a 5-day timeframe for the initial response from the section editor or submission for peer review. It has an 8-week timeframe for double evaluation by external peer reviewers. The editorial team combined rigorous peer review with efficient editorial processing exclusively conducted in an electronic format.

Fees

The Revista de Filosofía UCSC does not charge any fees for processing, editing, or publication of any of its articles. In addition, there are no charges to access the content.

History of the Revista de Filosofía UCSC

The Revista de Filosofía UCSC was established in 2002 as an annual publication. Since 2011, it has been published biannually within the corresponding periods. Owing to the contributions of various distinguished researchers, it has been continuously published and has achieved a high level of academic excellence.
