Abstract

This article´s goal is to show a wide view of the icon that is Mary and the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. In this walk down history lane we seek to deepen our knowledge about this “truth of faith”, its particular theological value and its intimate relationship with the faith of Christians. This essay is divided in two parts. We start with a summarized review of the his-tory of the Immaculate Conception. Concretely, we will see how the knowledge of this truth has been deepening. In the second part we intend to show the richness of the recent pontifical mastery and to show some practical consequences.
