THE “CAPABILITIES APPROACH” AND “MARGINS”

A question from the Social Sciences is if we can live together, if we are able to live in concord and community with our cultural diversities. This question, with approach philosophical and interdisciplinary, is posed in this short research from two socio-cultural models that can be additional for understand the problems of coexistence in our societies: The Focus of Capabilities, by Martha C. Nussbaum (2012), and Matthew and The Margins, by Warren Carter (2007), a sociopolitical and religious reading of the first Gospel. The methodology be from Biblical praxeology, first, highlighting some texts from Matthew, that show marginalization and exclusion situations. Second, to problema-tize and confront with the capabilities by Nussbaum, to update the Gospel message to our plural and different contexts, with great riches to a human and social build in function of show alternative proposals of human acceptance and coexistence and from these draw lessons as an intervention, reading foresight the Gospel.
