The present text has as its fundamental objective to analyze the liberating mission of the Latin American church from the conclusive document of the Second Episcopal Conference held in the city of Medellin. In the 60s and until the beginning of the 70s there was a set of challenges that worsened the crisis in Latin America, due to lack of economic and social policies of the rulers and the poor solidity of the democracies. It was a period of demands of popular organizations and even of some revolution-ary movements that aspired to structural changes in the different countries. In those years, after centuries of dependency and inequalities, several Latin American coun-tries saw some possibilities of liberation and equity.
