Abstract

This article aims to remember the 40th anniversary of the memo in defense of Libera-tion Theology, published on November 21, 1977 by a group of theologians Catholics and Protestants from West Germany, a document that had a great impact among Ger-man Catholics. It presents its content, impact and the reactions it provoked.
