Metadatos, identificadores persistentes y preservación digital
The Revista de Filosofía UCSC maintains its metadata, identifiers and preservation mechanisms in accordance with academic interoperability standards in order to ensure the identification, discoverability, traceability and permanent availability of its content.
Metadata
Each published contribution is provided with sufficient bibliographic and editorial metadata to identify it and facilitate its discovery. As applicable, these metadata include the title, abstract, keywords, contribution type, language, authors’ names, institutional affiliations, country, ORCID identifiers, dates of receipt and publication, volume, issue, page range or article identifier, DOI, bibliographic references, licence, copyright ownership and funding statements.
Institutional affiliations are recorded in a standardised form and linked to ROR identifiers (Research Organization Registry), where available. The published version also states the city and country of each institution.
The title, abstract and keywords are recorded in the original language of the contribution and, when that language is not English, also in English. The English title, abstract and keywords appear in the published version, on the contribution’s webpage and in its metadata. Research articles always include an abstract and keywords. Other contributions include at least an English title. The Editorial Team verifies that the English versions are accurate and comprehensible and may require authors to correct them or obtain language revision before publication.
Authors’ names, institutional affiliations and bibliographic references are published in Roman script. When a reference contains information in another writing system, a transliteration following a recognised system shall always be provided; the original form may also be retained when academically relevant.
Authors are responsible for providing complete and accurate information concerning their names, affiliations, identifiers, funding and any other details requested during submission. Before publication, the Editorial Team reviews and standardises this information while seeking to preserve the correct form of names, their diacritical marks and the precise identification of institutions.
When errors or omissions are identified after publication, the journal shall correct the metadata on its platform, update them in Crossref and, where appropriate, communicate the correction to other external systems. Changes affecting the status of a publication, including corrections or retractions, shall be recorded visibly and remain linked to the original document in accordance with the journal’s policy on Complaints, appeals, corrections and retractions.
Journal identifiers
The journal’s editorial title is Revista de Filosofía UCSC. The journal uses this title consistently on its website, in published files and in metadata deposited with Crossref, and communicates it as such to indexing services. Its key title registered in the ISSN system is Revista de filosofía - Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (En línea).
Since 2020, the Revista de Filosofía UCSC has been published exclusively in electronic format and bears the ISSN 2735-6353.
ISSN 0717-7801 corresponds to the print edition, which was published between 2002 and 2019 and has now ceased publication, and also serves as the ISSN-L linking the journal’s different versions. The journal retains the ISSN of the print edition as historical information and does not present it as corresponding to a current edition.
DOI
The journal assigns each published contribution a persistent digital identifier (DOI) registered through Crossref. The DOI appears on the contribution’s webpage, in its metadata and in the published version.
The journal keeps the metadata and resolution address associated with each DOI up to date. Registered DOIs are not deleted, altered or reused. When a contribution is corrected, retracted or becomes subject to another post-publication measure, its DOI shall continue to resolve to a webpage that clearly indicates its status and provides access to the corresponding notices.
Corrections, retractions and other significant editorial notices shall, where appropriate, receive their own DOI and be linked through their metadata to the contribution to which they refer.
ORCID
The journal asks all persons credited as authors of a contribution, including translators, to provide their ORCID identifier when submitting their work. When provided, the ORCID identifier is included in the metadata and the published version in order to distinguish each person’s academic identity unambiguously and correctly link their contributions. Its absence does not prevent the evaluation or publication of the work.
Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy of their ORCID identifier and keeping their record up to date. The journal does not create, modify or administer ORCID records on behalf of their holders.
Interoperability
The journal uses Open Journal Systems and makes its metadata publicly available through the OAI-PMH protocol, enabling their automated harvesting by repositories, libraries, catalogues, aggregators and indexing services.
The metadata are available through the following access point:
https://revistas.ucsc.cl/index.php/revistafilosofia/oai
The journal deposits the metadata of each published contribution with Crossref and may provide them to other academic information systems for the identification, indexing, preservation, discovery and dissemination of its content, in accordance with its policy on Open access and copyright.
Digital preservation
The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). Content published on its platform is deposited in this network and is subject to long-term distributed digital preservation using LOCKSS technology.
The Editorial Team periodically verifies the status of deposits and, together with the platform administrators, arranges for the resubmission of content containing errors or incomplete files.
Preservation encompasses published content, its metadata and subsequent editorial notices. Corrections, retractions and other changes to the status of a publication shall not entail the silent removal of the original record, but rather its preservation and linkage to the corresponding notice.
