The idea of God in the mapuche religious experience in the thought of Rudolf Otto
Main Article Content
Abstract
The indigenous attitude towards the religious is manifested in all areas of his life: in his vision of the cosmos, in art, in music, in gambling and in war, among others. The present article aims to present the idea of God in the religious experience of the mapuche people according to the thought of Rudolf Otto. For this the conceptual categories elaborated by the philosopher are applied, to the cosmological vision that historically has developed the mapuche. It is concluded that for Otto the Mapuche would have his vision of the world and life, and that it would correspond to the need to receive an idea of God, creator and protector of man, to seek and honor him according to the admapu or tradition of his ancestors.
