Functions of the Editorial Team

Functions of the Editor-in-Chief:

  • To provide academic leadership to the journal, in accordance with the quality criteria achieved, and to carry out the necessary actions to articulate it with the publishing entity.

  • To receive manuscripts that have already been reviewed and verify their proper compliance with the journal’s editorial guidelines.

  • To suggest and select reviewers for the submitted articles.

  • To appoint an adjudicating reviewer in the event of conflicting evaluations.

  • To make editorial decisions, taking into account the final reports of the reviewers.

  • To edit articles in accordance with the journal’s general standards.

  • To coordinate the delivery of edited material both with the printing service and with the databases in which the journal operates.

  • To review the proofs submitted by both instances.

  • To maintain fluent communication with the coordinators of the databases and indexing services in which the journal is included.

  • To write the editorial for each issue.

  • To negotiate the journal’s inclusion in various indexes and projects.

  • To propose the appointment of Editorial Assistants, in accordance with Faculty guidelines.

  • To ensure the dissemination, exchange, and visibility of the journal.

  • To suggest new members for the National and International Editorial Committee.

  • To carry out any other functions that contribute to the proper performance of the journal.

The Co-Editor shall support the Editor-in-Chief in the fulfillment of the functions described above, and, within the editorial team, tasks may be distributed as appropriate.

The Editorial Committee’s primary mission is to provide scientific and disciplinary advice to the journal, which is reflected, among other matters, in the following:

  • Providing opinions regarding the operation of the journal.

  • Proposing and carrying out evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

  • Making contributions of a research-related nature.

The Editorial Assistants’ primary mission is to support the Editor-in-Chief, who may assign them to various tasks involving both coordination and editing of the journal.
