Peer Review Process
Initial Reception and Evaluation
Once the articles are received, anonymity is ensured, and an initial evaluation of formal aspects is conducted by the Journal Director. In case any deficiencies in the formal requirements are identified, the article will be returned to the author specifying the problem and requesting a revised version.
Evaluation under the Double-Blind Peer Review System
Articles that pass the initial phase are sent to the Journal Editor, who initiates the evaluation process using the double-blind peer review system. In this system, each article is anonymously reviewed by at least two external reviewers, who are independent of the institution and the editorial committee.
External Peer Review
Once the formal requirements are met and anonymity is ensured, the articles are evaluated by at least two external reviewers through the double-blind peer review system. Reviewers provide a recommendation based on the following criteria:
a) The article meets the conditions for publication and is recommended for acceptance.
b) The article meets the conditions for publication but requires modifications, and is recommended for acceptance with revisions.
c) The article does not meet the conditions for publication and is recommended for rejection.
Editorial Team Decision
Based on the reports received from the external reviewers, the Journal Director makes the final decision:
a) Accept the article: In this case, the author is notified within the specified timeframe.
b) Accept the article with major or minor revisions: The author is provided with the feedback and the deadline to make the necessary revisions. The Editorial Team reserves the right to postpone publication in case of delays in the resubmission.
c) Reject the article: In this case, the author is informed and may request a detailed report on the decision.
If the reports from the external reviewers show discrepancies in the content evaluation, the article is anonymously sent to one of the members of the Editorial Committee based on the topic's affinity. Based on this second evaluation, the Director makes a decision according to the aforementioned points.
Duration of Peer Review Process
The peer review process in Inmanere Journal takes approximately eight weeks, from the article's reception to the submission of the review report.
It's worth mentioning that the evaluation process follows the Journal's Ethical Policy, and conflicts of interest are appropriately managed.
