This regulation aims to provide guidance to all individuals involved in the editorial and research process of Inmanere, the journal of the Faculty of Theological and Philosophical Studies at Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC). With the aim of complying with the highest standards of scientific rigor and, at the same time, contributing to the common good, Inmanere regulates each stage of the publication process to adhere to the principles of the UCSC's Identity Seal, as well as the international standards established by COPE.

Obligations of the Authors

  • They commit to using accurate data in their articles, without distorting the sources that underpin their research or manipulating the conclusions of their investigations in their favor.

  • The submitted texts must be completely original and unpublished. Submitting plagiarized texts, even if they belong to the same author, known as self-plagiarism, will be considered a serious violation of academic ethics. In addition, direct quotations and paraphrases must be clearly indicated. Submitting someone else's work as one's own without referencing the original source will be considered plagiarism. Inmanere uses the Ouriginal platform for all articles received to detect instances of plagiarism or passages that do not indicate their source.

  • They are committed to being available to revise their articles, both in terms of time and content, according to the instructions of the editorial and management team of Inmanere. Failure to follow the recommendations may result in the article not being published.

  • When submitting an article to Inmanere, authors cannot simultaneously submit the same work to another academic journal or any other type of publication. Inmanere assumes in good faith that the submitted works have been exclusively sent to them, allowing them to request external peer review and proceed with all the editorial work. Submitting the same document to two or more journals will be considered a violation of the editorial integrity of Inmanere.

  • Each article must list the academic or research individuals who have made an effective contribution to the study as authors. Adding someone as an author who has not had a real involvement in the research work will be considered a serious violation of intellectual honesty and the integrity of academic work.

  • Authors must acknowledge the sources of funding that have contributed to the success of the research and publication of the article, recognizing their support for the authors' work. Additionally, any other conflicts of interest related to the publication of the article must be disclosed.

  • The contents of Inmanere are licensed under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) 4.0 International, allowing for sharing and adaptation of the works with acknowledgment of the original authorship. Furthermore, the established standards of the committed indexes must be taken into account to ensure the quality and dissemination of the articles.

  • By submitting their work and upon publication, authors authorize their articles to be included in various databases and dissemination platforms affiliated with Inmanere.

Obligations of the Editorial and Management Team of Inmanere

  • They must respect the diversity of research and philosophical perspectives of the articles submitted for evaluation, as long as they do not contradict the guiding principles of the Identity Seal of Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción.

  • They must ensure that the submitted articles are reviewed through an objective and fair arbitration process. Therefore, they must be vigilant for any conflicts of interest or evidence of any non-scientific bias that could affect the fairness of this process. Similarly, they must ensure the anonymity of both the authors and the evaluators during the arbitration process.

  • They must seek competent evaluators for each article submitted to the journal, based on criteria such as academic background, specialization, experience, and objectivity.

  • Articles will be evaluated through a double-blind system. This means that the evaluators will not know the identities of the authors, and vice versa. An article will be sent to 2 evaluators, and if there is unanimity, the article will be published. If, on the contrary, one evaluator evaluates positively and the other does not, the article in question will be sent to a third evaluator.

  • Once the evaluations of the articles are received, they will be sent in full to the authors, clearly explaining the modifications that need to be made for publication or the reasons for rejection. In this process, it must be ensured that the authors receive their evaluation correctly, within the agreed timeframe and format established by the journal.

Obligations of the Editorial Committee

  • They must inform the Editorial and Management Team of any infractions they detect in the publication of any issue, related to the ethical regulations of the journal or any other relevant regulations.

  • They provide advisory support to the Editorial and Management Team, with the aim of continuously improving the disciplinary, editorial, and dissemination aspects of the journal.

Obligations of the Evaluators

  • They must inform the Editorial and Management Team of the journal if their work as evaluators may be affected by any conflict of interest.

  • They must adhere to the review deadlines and formats requested by the journal. If there are any difficulties in meeting the deadlines, the Editorial and Management Team must be informed in a timely manner.

  • They must notify the journal if they find that some articles they have been asked to review fall outside their area of expertise.

  • They must review the articles submitted for evaluation with the utmost objectivity and impartiality. If improvements are requested or if the work is rejected, clear arguments and justifications for the decision must be provided.

  • They must inform the journal of any indications that the work they are evaluating is plagiarized or contains incorrect or falsified data.

Corrections and Post-Publication Complaints

  • If the Editorial and Management Team of Inmanere decides to make modifications to an article after it has been published, they must notify the author in advance and provide reasons for the modification.

  • If the author disagrees with the modification, they may appeal to the Editorial Team of the journal by stating their reasons.

  • If the author believesthat the editorial team has not strictly adhered to the ethical and scientific requirements, they may write to the Dean of the Faculty of Theological and Philosophical Studies at Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC), presenting their arguments. The authority must respond and provide a solution within a maximum of 15 days. The contact information for the Dean can be found on the Faculty's website.

  • If, after an article has been published, it is discovered that it is not an original text or that it is a plagiarized text, the editorial team must remove the article from the journal's website. Additionally, the author will not be allowed to publish again in Inmanere. The reasons and evidence must be sent to the author via email.

  • The author may appeal, only once, to the Dean of the Faculty of Theological and Philosophical Studies, who must respond within a maximum of 15 days to definitively resolve the situation.

  • It is the obligation of the editorial team to follow this procedure for each discovery of a situation that violates the code of ethics. They must proceed in the same manner if unethical behavior has been discovered and reported by a third party unrelated to the journal.
