Análisis de las actividades que proponen dos libros de texto de educación primaria. Un acercamiento comparativo desde la perspectiva de la inferencia informal

Resumen

La investigación en educación estadística sugiere que algunas de las ideas centrales de la estadística se enseñen desde temprana edad con propuestas como la Inferencia Informal, la cual ha mostrado aportes significativos al aprendizaje de conceptos estadísticos básicos. En esta investigación se realiza un análisis de libros de texto en un nivel educativo clave de la educación primaria en Chile para el desarrollo de pensamiento inferencial: el octavo grado (13 a 14 años). Se analizan las actividades planteadas por dos textos influyentes a nivel nacional a la luz de las componentes de inferencia informal y contexto. Se muestran oportunidades de mejora de estos libros texto centrados en el estudio de la muestra y cómo actividades potencialmente ricas se desaprovechan en el desarrollo del pensamiento inferencial de manera intuitiva e informal. Si bien, algunas actividades muestran una orientación al desarrollo de este tipo de pensamiento, la mayoría de las actividades se centran en el aprendizaje de conceptos descontextualizados.

Nicolás Sánchez Acevedo, Universidad Alberto Hurtado

Académico y profesor-investigador en el departamento de Pedagogía Media y Didácticas Específicas de la Universidad Alberto Hurtado. Actualmente, finalizando estudios de doctorado en Ciencias con mención en Matemática Educativa por el Instituto Politécnico Nacional, México. Es miembro de la Red Latinoamericana en Educación Estadística (RELIEE), del Grupo de Investigación en Didáctica de las Matemáticas (SIDM), España, y del Comité Latinoamericano de Matemática Educativa (CLAME). Las líneas de trabajo que desarrolla son análisis de libros de texto, desarrollo profesional docente, didáctica de la estadística en el ámbito del uso de documentos curriculares por profesores en la enseñanza de la Estadística.

Blanca Ruiz Hernández, Tecnológico de Monterrey

Profesora-investigadora del Tecnológico de Monterrey, NL, México. Trabaja en el área de Estadística y Educación Estadística. Es doctora en Didáctica de la Matemática por la Universidad de Granada, España. Es miembro fundador de la Red Latinoamericana en Educación Estadística (RELIEE) y la Red de Investigación e Innovación en Educación Estadística y Matemática Educativa (RIIEEME). Entre sus investigaciones más importantes se encuentra “Una propuesta de diálogo entre la investigación y la docencia: Seminario Repensar las matemáticas” (2015) y otras en didáctica de la estadística como “La relación entre la variable aleatoria y la variable estadística”.
