Abstract

The purpose of the article is to provide a brief overview of the acknowledgement and application of the so-called precautionary
principle in Chile. In order to accomplish this aim, its scope will be studied in our country as well as the situations will be described in which our courts have recognized and used this principle. Notwithstanding, its implementation and regulation are proposed as well as its application either directly or through the basic tools and principles recognized in our national law.
