This article states that the social reintegration of persons sentenced to deprivation of liberty should be a priority task of the State, and in this sense work in the context of reinsertion into the labour market is a valuable tool, which is highlighted and promoted by various international instruments. In order to achieve positive results in labor reinsertion, it is necessary, based on the experiences of other countries, to entrust this function to a specialized entity, dependent on the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, excluding the Gendarmerie so that it deals exclusively with the care and application of the penitentiary system.
