Abstract

Nowadays, most people expect that people who commit crimes will be sentenced to prison and fulfill the punishment in it. But from almost every aspect (sociological, psychological, social and even economic) it is preferable for people to serve sentences in less serious ways than deprivation of liberty, either avoiding jail or establishing mechanisms that allow those who are already in it to obtain greater freedom until they reach or reduce the original punishment, provided that they demonstrate a change in behavior or for the humanity reasons In Chile, diverse legal bodies consecrate these mechanisms that are known as prison benefits. The objective of this study is to deepen the permits, benefits that grant greater spaces of freedom based on social reintegration.
