Abstract

Study of the early works of William Shakespeare played in Chile, between 1818 and 1849. This paper seeks to highlight two issues: first establish the first performance of a Shakespeare's play in Chile and, secondly, why the production of these works in our country was so little and late. lt is intended to bring the reader to the reception in Chile of the legacy of one of the most important playwrights of all time.
