Abstract

The reproductive cycle of Chorus giganteus (Lesson. 1829) was studied at Corral Bay. Valdivia (Lat. 39° 53 S; Long. 73" 53 W). An asynchronic and continuous eyele was observed in the female population; spawning occurred in January. March. April and Scptember. The male population shows maturo spermatozoa all the year. A gonadal maturity scale for Chorus giganteus was defined by means of macro and microscopic features of the gonad.
