Abstract

This work aims to thc understanding of available data in thc Coastal geology and geomorphology fields in respeci to genetic and evolutive events which account for the geographical configuration of de coast, particullary, the configuralion of Concepción Bay. Therefore, some recent scicntific contributions. in the last decades, are reviewed which are related to local Coastal evolution. In the very fact, a brief of Coastal geology is showed and it is pined to undestanding of stratigrafic and conform the present coast. At the latter period (Holocene) information about deltaic evolution is bein searched in the oullet of Biobío river. An important role is attributed to the detritus of the river, recent marine transgression and dynamic aspeetsof wind and sea on thc final configuration of de coast.
