Moluscos marinos de importancia económica en Chile

Abstract

A synoptic study of thc chilcan marine molluscs of economic importance is presented. The general characteristics of this group, its extraction areas in Chile and the capturing devices are briefly described. Informationmabout historie aspeets of its study is given, as well as its importance for the aborigines, especially those who inhabited the Coastal areas.

A simple key enable one to readily identify the 46 species described in the paper. Diagnosis carachters, biological and ecological data and geographic distribution are also given.
