Abstract

Some biological aspects of the shrimp C. caementarius (Mol, 1782) are studied. Specimens were collected monthly between September 1972' and June 1973 in the shrimp experimental ccnter El Culebrón, Province of Coquimbo, Chile. 1184 males and 1205 females were examined. The principal studies relate lo: ethology, size of sexual maturity, spawning period, fecundity and some aspects of the egg and larval development. The size population structure; condition Índex and the relation between cephalothoracic length and weight are studied.
A brief analysis of abiotic variables are also included.
