Cálculos de Capacidad de Carga en lagunas de Crianza de Salmonideos

Abstract

Some economical and biological factors relatives to the culture of salmonid species in locked inland waters, such as hatchery ponds, are analized in this report. Background information which constitute the practical and theoretical base on the study of carrying of rearing ponds used in fish culture are reviewed and summarized.
Tables of carrying capacity in amount of food per day and in number of fishes, considering fish size and water temperature, were prepared. The latter was based on dry pellet feeding table used in trout culture.
The “Efficience Factor” concept and a new simple formula for predetermining carrying capacity of hatchery ponds are proposed.
