A study was prepared, which consists of the economic evaluation of two important materials in
the construction of the interior partitions of the 3rd floor in a 21-floor building located in the city of
Concepción. These materials are plasterboard and metalcon profiles. Within this study, the acquisition
cost of these two materials was evaluated, as well as the cost associated with labor and machinery involved
in the transportation process on site. In addition, the waste generated by both materials was accounted for,
to quantify the costs related to waste management. Finally, a proposal is presented to achieve the
optimization of these materials within the work, with the aim of achieving a better use of both. This entails
great benefits for the company, since it is possible to reduce the number of materials that are currently used, and the amount of waste generated within the work
