By means of a representative sampling ai the Pullinque oyster bed, a positive correlation between the degree of individual heterozigosity at two enzime loci (CA and LAP) and some morphometric variables (Length, height, total weight, sofl tissue weight and percentage of total weight that is soft tissue) was established. The relationships explained between 1.3% and 4.1% of the variance. The implications of these associations are discussed, in terms of possible causal explanations between mukiheterozygosity
and size, as well as the effect that a fishery acting selectively by size can have upon the genetic structure of a population.
